FAQ
How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer?
If you have your date and venue booked, it’s worth getting in touch as soon as you can. Popular dates, particularly during the summer and on weekends, can book up well in advance. That said, if your wedding is coming up sooner, don’t hesitate to ask. If I’m available for your date, I’d be delighted to hear about your plans.
How do we secure our wedding date?
We’ll start with a call so we can chat about your plans, get to know each other and make sure I’m the right fit for your wedding. If you’re happy to go ahead after our call, I’ll send over the contract and details for transferring the €400 booking fee. Once the contract is signed and the booking fee is paid, your date is secured.
Do you travel for weddings across Ireland?
Yes, I’m available for weddings throughout Ireland. Whether you’re getting married in a city hotel, a country house or somewhere a little more off the beaten track, I’d love to hear about your plans. Travel costs depend on your wedding location, so get in touch with your date and venue and I’ll clarify any applicable charges.
What is your photography style?
My approach is relaxed, natural and documentary-led. I’m there to capture your wedding as it actually happens: the laughs, the happy tears, the unexpected moments and all the little things you might not even notice on the day.
Your wedding day shouldn’t feel like a photoshoot. I won’t have you standing around posing for hours or constantly interrupting what’s happening. I’ll let you enjoy the celebrations with your favourite people while I focus on telling the story of your day through genuine, unscripted photographs.
When it comes to your couple portraits, I’ll offer guidance where needed while keeping things relaxed and natural. The aim is to create photographs that feel like you, not a series of stiff, uncomfortable poses.
Do we need to prepare a shot list?
You don’t need to plan every photograph in advance. My documentary approach is all about capturing moments as they naturally unfold, rather than working through a long list of staged shots.
The one thing I’d recommend preparing is a list of any important family group photographs you’d like. That way, we can make sure the people who matter most to you are included without spending too much of your wedding day away from your guests.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
It’s Ireland, so we know the weather doesn’t always cooperate! Rain doesn’t mean we can’t create beautiful photographs. We’ll make the most of the conditions, using sheltered spots and suitable indoor locations where needed, while taking advantage of opportunities outside whenever the weather allows.
The aim is to keep things relaxed and make the most of your day, whatever the forecast has in store.
We’re not comfortable in front of the camera. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Many couples aren’t used to having a camera pointed at them all day, and you certainly don’t need to know how to pose.
My approach is to help you feel comfortable and let things happen naturally. You can spend your time enjoying each other’s company and celebrating with your guests rather than worrying about what to do with your hands or where to look.
You don’t need to perform for the camera. Just be yourselves.
Can we book a second photographer?
Yes, a second photographer is available. This can be particularly useful when preparations are taking place in different locations or when you’d like moments captured from different perspectives throughout the day.
If you’re considering a second photographer, let me know when you enquire. We can discuss your plans and whether additional coverage would suit your wedding.
Do we need to provide a meal for the photographer?
As I’m with you throughout the day, from the preparations through to the celebrations, I’d really appreciate being provided with a meal if possible. It helps me keep my energy up so I can continue capturing all the important moments of your wedding day.
When will we receive our wedding photographs?
Your full wedding gallery is typically delivered within 8–12 weeks of your wedding. I’ll carefully edit your photographs to tell the story of your day, capturing the big moments as well as the smaller details you might otherwise have missed.
Once your gallery is ready, you’ll be able to view and share your photographs through an online gallery.
Will all our photographs be edited?
Yes, every photograph selected for your final gallery is individually edited to maintain a consistent look and feel throughout your wedding story. I’ll carefully select the images that best tell the story of your day, rather than simply handing over every frame captured.
