Bellinter House Wedding Photography
If you are looking for an Irish country house wedding venue that has loads of character and a completely relaxed vibe, Bellinter House in County Meath is absolute class. It mixes the elegance of a classic Georgian estate with gorgeous gardens, moody tree canopies, and brilliant backdrops for photos.
The estate is packed with gorgeous outdoor locations for photos, mixing the classic elegance of the Georgian house with massive sweeping lawns and moody tree canopies. It is the perfect setup if you want beautiful backdrops without any of the stuffiness.
Outdoor Ceremonies under the Iconic Beech Tree
One of the most distinctive features of Bellinter House is its beautiful outdoor ceremony setting beneath the magnificent Weeping Beech Tree on the front lawn. There is something truly special about watching the bride emerge from the historic house, descend the steps and stroll across the sweeping lawn towards the ceremony, with the tree’s cascading branches creating a spectacular natural backdrop. Surrounded by the elegance of the Georgian house and the beauty of the Meath countryside, it’s a wonderfully romantic setting for exchanging vows and an incredible location for wedding photography. From those first moments walking down the steps to the ceremony beneath the tree, Bellinter House offers a setting that feels both timeless and completely unique.

As a wedding photographer and videographer, I absolutely love shooting here. Whether it's an outdoor ceremony out on the lawn or slipping away around the grounds for some natural, candid portraits, the backdrops are stunning.
My whole approach is entirely documentary and unposed. We focus on capturing the real moments, the big laughs, and the genuine story of your day without keeping you away from your guests or the drinks reception for hours.
Wedding Photography Locations at Bellinter House
Bellinter House offers a wonderful variety of locations for wedding photography, both inside and out. The impressive front steps provide a beautiful setting for portraits, while the surrounding grounds offer plenty of space to wander and capture relaxed, natural moments away from the celebrations. The magnificent Weeping Beech Tree is a particular highlight, with its sweeping branches creating a distinctive backdrop for romantic couple portraits. Inside, the house has just as much character, from the elegant main staircase to its period features and beautiful interiors. And, of course, if the Irish weather doesn’t play ball, there are plenty of indoor options to make the most of, ensuring we can still create a gorgeous collection of photographs without being at the mercy of the rain.
Lorna and Dermot’s mid-summer wedding at Bellinter House...
was the absolute perfect reflection of our relaxed, documentary photography style. From start to finish, the entire day was filled with genuine emotion, allowing us to capture authentic, candid moments without disrupting the flow of their celebrations. Because we know the historic estate inside and out, we managed to slip away for their couple portraits right after the ceremony and wrapped them up in just twenty minutes. This meant Lorna and Dermot could spend almost their entire drinks reception laughing, mingling, and enjoying a glass of champagne with their family and friends, completely free from the pressure of long, stiff, or overly staged photo sessions.
As the sun set over the Meath countryside and the evening party got into full swing, we slipped away with the newlyweds once more to capture some dramatic night-time portraits around the grounds. Bellinter House completely transforms after dark, and these specific backdrops are every bit as spectacular at night as they are during the day. We recreated a quiet, romantic moment right beneath the sweeping canopy of the iconic Weeping Beech Tree where they had exchanged vows hours earlier, before moving over to the grand stone steps at the front of the main house. The architectural lines of the illuminated Georgian mansion provided a breathtakingly cinematic setting. These creative night-time portraits turned out to be an absolute highlight of their gallery, and we are incredibly proud to share that two of the creative night shots we took at Lorna and Dermot's wedding went on to win prestigious industry awards, perfectly capturing the atmospheric magic of their unforgettable summer celebration.
