Dublin Wedding Photographer: Relaxed, Natural & Unstaged
Dublin City Weddings
Choosing a wedding photographer shouldn't feel like another full-time job. You've probably spent hours on venues and suppliers already, and after a while every wedding gallery starts to look the same.
Here's what I think matters: your photos shouldn't only look good. They should feel like your wedding. The laughing through the speeches, the unplanned moments on the dance floor, the look on someone's face when they see you in your dress, and all the small things you won't notice on the day.
I'm a Dublin wedding photographer and videographer, and my approach is simple. You enjoy your day, spend it with your guests and be yourselves. I'll document it without turning it into one long photoshoot.
I've been shortlisted for the One Fab Day Awards 2026 for both photography and videography, and I have 140 five-star reviews on Weddingsonline. But the best way to see how I work is to look at real weddings, so I'll point you to some below.
Photography for couples who'd rather not pose
Some couples want a handful of relaxed portraits and the rest of the day documented naturally. Others want to make the most of their surroundings with some dramatic couple photos alongside the candid moments. Most want a mix.
My style is documentary-led. I watch what's happening, anticipate moments and stay out of the way. When it's time for your couple portraits I'll guide you, and I keep them short so you're back with your guests for the drinks reception. You don't need to know how to pose. If you're not comfortable in front of a camera, that's fine. Helping you relax is part of the job.
After dark I like to take a few dramatic portraits with creative lighting, when the venue and conditions allow. They look completely different from the softer photos earlier in the day, and they're often couples' favourites.
Dublin venues I've photographed
A city-centre ceremony gives you different opportunities from a castle or a big hotel, so I work with the setting rather than forcing every wedding into the same formula. Dublin venues I've shot at include:
- Dublin City Hall
- Marco Pierre White, Donnybrook
- Wrights Anglers Rest
- Castleknock Hotel
- Clontarf Castle Hotel
- Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel, Killiney
- Finnstown Castle Hotel
- The Shelbourne Hotel
- The Westbury Hotel
- The Morrison Hotel
- Radisson Blu St Helen's Hotel, Stillorgan
- No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place
- Smock Alley Theatre
- Fallon & Byrne
Real wedding: Dublin City Hall
Sarah and Conor wanted something relaxed: a small, informal wedding with their six-year-old daughter at the heart of it. They had their ceremony at Dublin City Hall, with the celebrations afterwards at Marco Pierre White in Donnybrook.
City Hall is a great setting for a city wedding. The architecture and natural light give you plenty to work with, and the surrounding streets mean you can get portraits that feel like Dublin without going far. I spent about twenty minutes on portraits, took a stroll through the city and were at the reception for the party.

Wedding photography and videography in Dublin
Some moments are best remembered in a photograph. Others are worth hearing and watching again: the laughter during a speech, your vows, the noise on the dance floor.
I offer photography and videography separately or together. When they're booked together, a photographer and a videographer work as a team and keep out of each other's way, so the day doesn't feel like a film set. The combined package gives you a highlight film, a longer documentary-style film and multi-camera coverage of the key moments. There's more on the videography page.
How much does a wedding photographer in Dublin cost?
Prices vary with coverage, experience and what's included, so don't compare headline numbers alone. Look at what you actually receive. My full-day packages are:
- Full-day photography, one photographer: €2,200
- Full-day photography, two photographers: €2,900
- Full-day photography and videography: €3,900
Every photography package includes individually edited, high-resolution photos, a private online gallery with unlimited downloads and a 48-hour sneak peek. Your full gallery arrives within six to eight weeks. Video is shot in 4K and delivered within three weeks of your wedding.
The full breakdown is on the FAQ and pricing page. If you're comparing quotes, my guide to comparing wedding photography packages in Ireland shows what to ask each photographer.
Questions couples ask
What if it rains? This is Ireland, so it might. Overcast skies give lovely soft light, and most venues have indoor spaces, covered walkways or architecture that works just as well. I work with the conditions and your schedule, so the photos don't take over your day.
Can I see a full wedding gallery, not just highlights? The real weddings on my blog show a whole day, from the morning to the dance floor. A portfolio of highlights tells you less about how a photographer covers a full day.
Do you photograph weddings outside Dublin? Yes. I photograph weddings across Ireland, including Bellinter House in Meath and Clanard Court in Kildare.
When should I book? Once you've found a photographer you like, check their availability early, especially for summer dates and Saturdays. You don't need your plans finalised to get in touch. We can work through the practical details together.
